RideSenior Introduces New Transportation Care Plan Pricing to Make Senior Transportation More Accessible – Effective September 15, 2026

RideSenior is introducing a new pricing structure for its Transportation Care Plans, effective September 15, 2026, as part of our continued commitment to making dependable senior transportation easier to understand, more flexible to use, and more accessible to older adults and their families. The change applies to the RideSenior Medical Care Plan, Dialysis Care Plan, and Cancer Care Plan and represents an important evolution in how our Care Plans work. Rather than asking customers to make a large advance payment based on a predetermined route or a fixed estimate for multiple future rides, the new structure allows customers to activate an annual Care Plan for a smaller membership fee, receive Care Plan savings on a defined number of eligible rides, and pay for each transportation service separately according to the actual trip being booked.

The purpose of this change is simple: senior transportation needs are rarely identical from one appointment to the next. An older adult may need transportation to a family physician one week, a specialist the following week, a hospital later in the month, and a rehabilitation or diagnostic appointment after that. Even when someone is attending the same medical facility regularly, appointment times, pickup arrangements, waiting requirements, assistance needs, and return-trip schedules may change. RideSenior believes a transportation plan should adapt to those realities instead of requiring families to predict the exact cost and structure of future rides before they have even been scheduled.

Under the new Transportation Care Plan model, customers will know what they are purchasing from the beginning. The annual Care Plan fee activates a defined level of transportation savings and Care Plan benefits. It does not represent advance payment for all future transportation. When an eligible ride is later booked, RideSenior calculates the regular transportation fare according to the actual journey and applicable selected services, and the customer’s active Care Plan savings are then applied to the eligible ride pricing. This makes it possible for pickup locations, destinations, dates, times, trip types, and transportation requirements to change from one booking to another without requiring the customer to purchase a completely new package.

How Your Care Plan Works
Your annual Care Plan fee activates your savings benefits.
Transportation is not prepaid.
Each ride is booked and priced separately based on the actual route and selected services.
Your applicable Care Plan savings are then applied to the eligible ride fare.

Example:

Regular eligible ride fare
$72.00

Silver Medical Care Plan
8% OFF

You save
$5.76

Care Plan fare
$66.24

before applicable taxes and additional selected services.

RideSenior’s regular distance-based transportation pricing remains transparent so families can better understand what their Care Plan percentage means in practical terms. For trips with a total route distance of up to 5 kilometres, the transportation fare starts at CAD $25. For trips over 5 kilometres and up to 10 kilometres, the fare is CAD $32. For trips over 10 kilometres and up to 30 kilometres, the fare is CAD $32 for the first 10 kilometres plus CAD $1.10 for each kilometre beyond 10 kilometres. For trips over 30 kilometres and up to 80 kilometres, the fare is CAD $54 for the first 30 kilometres plus CAD $0.90 for each kilometre beyond 30 kilometres. For longer trips exceeding 80 kilometres, the fare is CAD $99 for the first 80 kilometres plus CAD $0.75 for each additional kilometre. For round-trip transportation, the pricing calculation uses the combined outbound and return route distance.

This means the value of a Care Plan can be seen directly when a customer books transportation. For example, a regular transportation fare of CAD $72 with an 8% Care Plan saving would be reduced by CAD $5.76, bringing the eligible transportation fare to CAD $66.24 before applicable taxes and any additional selected services. A customer with a 10% Care Plan benefit would save CAD $7.20 on the same CAD $72 eligible fare. Instead of asking a family to purchase a collection of rides whose future routes and costs are not yet known, RideSenior can calculate each journey when the customer actually knows where and when transportation is needed.

Additional services also remain clearly identified. Hospital Pickup Assistance is CAD $15 when a RideSenior Pro must park and enter the hospital to meet the rider, with parking included when applicable, while door or curbside hospital pickup is CAD $0 when the rider can meet the RideSenior Pro at the specified hospital entrance or pickup point. For applicable hospital-related round trips, the first 30 minutes of waiting are included at no charge, after which waiting is charged at CAD $10 for each additional 30 minutes or portion thereof, with the hospital waiting fee capped at CAD $30. Selected mobility assistance may also carry an additional charge, including CAD $5 for walker assistance and CAD $10 for wheelchair or other applicable mobility assistance. Customers are shown their applicable transportation pricing when their actual ride is booked, allowing the Care Plan and the transportation service itself to remain clearly separated.

This new approach is intended to make Transportation Care Plans easier for families to evaluate. A customer no longer needs to ask whether all future trips must go to the same hospital, whether a plan becomes unsuitable when a specialist changes locations, or whether the family must estimate months of transportation costs in advance. The Care Plan travels with the eligible customer rather than being tied to one predetermined route. That distinction is particularly important for seniors whose care may involve several healthcare providers or facilities throughout the year.

The new Care Plan structure also reflects RideSenior’s broader mission of helping older adults maintain access to healthcare, essential appointments, and community services without making transportation planning unnecessarily complicated. Transportation is not simply the movement between two addresses. For many older adults, it is an important connection between living independently and being able to attend the appointments that support their health and quality of life. For adult children and caregivers, dependable transportation can also reduce the difficulty of coordinating work schedules, family responsibilities, appointment times, and transportation for a parent or loved one.

The updated pricing applies beginning September 15, 2026, and is organized around three Transportation Care Plans designed for different patterns of healthcare transportation: the Medical Care Plan, Dialysis Care Plan, and Cancer Care Plan. Each continues under its established RideSenior name while moving to the more flexible annual Care Plan structure.

Medical Care Plan

The RideSenior Medical Care Plan is designed for seniors and families who expect to require transportation for medical appointments throughout the year but may not know in advance exactly where those appointments will take place. Medical transportation can involve family physicians, specialists, diagnostic imaging centres, laboratories, physiotherapy and rehabilitation appointments, outpatient clinics, hospitals, dental appointments, eye care, follow-up visits, and other eligible healthcare-related destinations. Because these journeys can change throughout the year, the updated Medical Care Plan focuses on transportation savings rather than requiring customers to prepay a fixed group of predetermined trips.

Effective September 15, 2026, the Medical Care Plan is available through three annual levels. The Bronze level is CAD $29 per year and provides 5% savings on up to 6 eligible rides. The Silver level is CAD $49 per year and provides 8% savings on up to 12 eligible rides. The Gold level is CAD $79 per year and provides 10% savings on up to 24 eligible rides. Ride fares are paid separately, meaning the annual membership fee activates the Care Plan benefit but does not prepay the transportation services themselves.

This distinction gives customers considerably more flexibility. A Silver Medical Care Plan member, for example, can use the plan benefit across up to 12 eligible rides without requiring those rides to share the same pickup location, destination, distance, or appointment schedule. A senior could travel from home to a physician’s office for one booking, attend a hospital appointment on another date, and later use RideSenior for a specialist or rehabilitation appointment at another location. The actual transportation price is calculated for each booking, and the applicable 8% Silver Care Plan savings can then be applied to the eligible ride pricing.

The new model also makes the financial commitment easier to understand. Consider a Medical Silver member booking an eligible ride with a regular transportation fare of CAD $54. An 8% Care Plan saving represents CAD $4.32, reducing the eligible fare to CAD $49.68 before applicable taxes and additional selected services. If another ride has a regular eligible transportation fare of CAD $72, the same 8% benefit represents CAD $5.76 in savings, reducing that eligible fare to CAD $66.24. The savings therefore reflect the actual transportation being provided rather than an estimated route created when the customer first purchased the Care Plan.

For customers who expect only occasional appointments, Bronze provides a lower annual entry point while still creating a meaningful transportation benefit. For families who anticipate more regular healthcare transportation, Silver expands both the number of eligible rides and the percentage saved. Gold is designed for customers with more frequent transportation needs, providing 10% savings on up to 24 eligible rides during the applicable Care Plan period.

RideSenior believes this structure can also make it easier for adult children to arrange transportation for their parents. Healthcare schedules are often dynamic, and a family may not know today what appointments a parent will have six months from now. By separating the annual Care Plan from individual ride payments, families can establish a transportation benefit in advance without needing to estimate every future route. When an appointment is scheduled, the ride can be booked using the actual information available at that time.

The Medical Care Plan continues to support the broader RideSenior approach to senior transportation, including a service environment designed around older adults, appointment transportation, communication, and assistance options. The objective is not simply to create a discount program, but to provide a practical framework that can make recurring transportation easier for seniors and the people coordinating their care.

Dialysis Care Plan

Dialysis transportation presents a different challenge because appointments can occur much more frequently and follow a recurring treatment schedule over an extended period. Transportation must often be coordinated repeatedly, and the cumulative cost of travelling to and from treatment can become significant for seniors and their families. The RideSenior Dialysis Care Plan is therefore structured with higher ride allowances and savings levels designed to reflect the recurring nature of dialysis-related transportation while preserving the flexibility to price every trip according to the actual journey.

Beginning September 15, 2026, the Dialysis Care Plan offers three annual levels. Essential is CAD $49 per year and provides 8% savings on up to 12 eligible rides. Plus is CAD $79 per year and provides 10% savings on up to 24 eligible rides. Complete is CAD $129 per year and provides 12% savings on up to 48 eligible rides. As with the Medical Care Plan, transportation fares are paid separately. The annual fee activates the Care Plan benefits and does not mean that 12, 24, or 48 transportation services are included in the membership price.

The revised structure is particularly useful for dialysis transportation because it avoids assuming that every trip will be identical. Although a patient may frequently attend the same treatment facility, transportation circumstances can still change. A family member may occasionally provide one direction of transportation, treatment times may change, a patient may need a different pickup location, or a hospital-related booking may require additional waiting or pickup assistance. By pricing the actual transportation service at the time it is booked, RideSenior can accommodate those differences while still applying the customer’s eligible Care Plan savings.

For example, if an Essential Dialysis Care Plan member has an eligible regular transportation fare of CAD $54, an 8% saving reduces the eligible fare by CAD $4.32 to CAD $49.68 before applicable tax and additional selected services. With the Plus level, a 10% saving on the same CAD $54 eligible fare would reduce it by CAD $5.40 to CAD $48.60. With the Complete level, a 12% saving would reduce the eligible CAD $54 fare by CAD $6.48 to CAD $47.52. Because the benefit is percentage-based, the savings remain connected to the actual transportation being used.

Hospital waiting policies are also important for families arranging treatment transportation. For applicable hospital-related round trips, RideSenior includes the first 30 minutes of waiting at no additional charge. Additional waiting is billed at CAD $10 for each 30-minute period or portion thereof, with the waiting fee capped at CAD $30. When a rider needs the RideSenior Pro to park and enter the hospital to meet them, Hospital Pickup Assistance is available for CAD $15, with parking included when applicable. A customer who can meet the RideSenior Pro at the designated hospital entrance or curbside pickup location can select that option without the Hospital Pickup Assistance charge.

Clear separation between the Care Plan membership and individual transportation pricing is especially important for high-frequency services. It enables customers to understand that they are purchasing access to a defined savings benefit rather than buying a bundle of identical rides whose future circumstances may change. It also gives families greater control over when they use RideSenior and how each transportation request is structured.

For a family coordinating dialysis transportation over many months, the Complete level provides the largest allowance, with up to 48 eligible rides receiving the applicable 12% savings. At the same time, RideSenior does not require the family to pay the transportation cost of all 48 rides in advance. The annual Care Plan fee is CAD $129, while each actual transportation service is booked and paid separately. This substantially lowers the initial financial commitment compared with a prepaid model involving dozens of future transportation services.

The Dialysis Care Plan is therefore intended to combine predictability with flexibility. Families know the annual membership fee, the percentage savings, and the maximum number of eligible rides receiving that benefit, while the transportation fare remains based on the real trip. This allows RideSenior to support recurring healthcare transportation without asking customers to predict months of routes, waiting times, assistance requirements, and appointment schedules before purchasing a plan.

Cancer Care Plan

Cancer treatment and recovery can involve a series of appointments that vary considerably in frequency, destination, duration, and transportation requirements. A senior may need transportation for consultations, diagnostic procedures, treatment appointments, hospital visits, follow-up care, rehabilitation, or other eligible cancer-related healthcare services. Some periods may involve frequent appointments, while others may require only occasional transportation. RideSenior’s updated Cancer Care Plan is designed to accommodate that uncertainty while giving seniors and families a clear way to reduce eligible transportation costs.

Effective September 15, 2026, the Cancer Care Plan offers three annual levels. Support is CAD $29 per year and provides 5% savings on up to 6 eligible rides. Extended is CAD $49 per year and provides 8% savings on up to 12 eligible rides. Complete is CAD $79 per year and provides 10% savings on up to 24 eligible rides. As with RideSenior’s other updated Transportation Care Plans, the annual fee activates the applicable Care Plan benefits, while each transportation service is booked and paid for separately.

This structure recognizes that it can be particularly difficult for a family to estimate transportation requirements at the beginning of a period of cancer care. Appointment schedules can evolve, treatment locations can change, and additional visits may be scheduled as care progresses. A prepaid transportation package based on one route cannot easily reflect those changes. Under the updated Cancer Care Plan, the customer does not have to commit to a single hospital or predetermined journey when purchasing the plan.

A Support member can receive 5% savings on up to 6 eligible rides, making the level appropriate for customers who expect a smaller number of transportation needs. Extended increases the benefit to 8% on up to 12 eligible rides, while Complete provides 10% savings on up to 24 eligible rides for customers who anticipate more frequent transportation. In every case, RideSenior calculates the actual fare according to the transportation service being requested and then applies the applicable Care Plan savings to eligible ride pricing.

For example, an Extended Cancer Care Plan member with an eligible regular transportation fare of CAD $72 would receive an 8% saving of CAD $5.76, bringing the eligible fare to CAD $66.24 before applicable taxes and additional selected services. A Complete member receiving 10% savings on the same eligible fare would save CAD $7.20 and pay CAD $64.80 before applicable taxes and additional selected services. The customer therefore sees a direct connection between the regular transportation fare and the value delivered by the Care Plan.

This approach also helps make the plan easier to explain to family members who may be purchasing or coordinating transportation on behalf of a senior. The annual Care Plan fee is not presented as the price of several rides. Instead, it is the price of activating a transportation savings program for a defined period and a defined number of eligible rides. Ride fares remain separate and are determined when the actual transportation details are known.

Across the Medical, Dialysis, and Cancer Care Plans, RideSenior is making this change because we believe transportation support should be designed around the realities of seniors and families rather than forcing those realities into a rigid prepaid structure. A senior’s transportation needs can evolve from week to week, and families should have the ability to make transportation decisions as those needs become known.

The updated Transportation Care Plans also provide greater transparency around regular RideSenior pricing. Customers can understand the underlying distance-based transportation fare, see applicable additional services such as mobility assistance, understand hospital pickup and waiting policies, and then see how their Care Plan percentage can reduce eligible ride pricing. The intention is to make the decision easier at every stage, from choosing a Care Plan to booking an individual ride.

RideSenior will continue to focus on transportation services built around the needs of older adults, including medical transportation, hospital-related transportation, recurring healthcare appointments, and other eligible journeys. Care Plans are one part of that commitment, providing customers who expect repeated transportation needs with a way to access additional savings without requiring a large upfront payment for transportation that has not yet taken place.

For RideSenior, making transportation more accessible does not simply mean lowering an initial price. It means reducing unnecessary barriers, making costs understandable, giving families flexibility, and creating services that reflect how senior healthcare actually works. A transportation program should be able to accommodate a different destination next month, a change from a one-way ride to a round trip, an appointment that requires hospital pickup assistance, or a family member who needs to coordinate transportation remotely. The new Care Plan model was developed around that flexibility.

Customers purchasing a Care Plan on or after September 15, 2026, will be able to select the plan and level that best reflects their anticipated transportation needs, pay the applicable annual Care Plan fee, and then book and pay for individual transportation services as needed. Each eligible ride will be priced according to the actual journey and selected services, with the applicable Care Plan savings applied according to the customer’s active plan and remaining eligible ride benefits.

The change also gives customers greater freedom to decide whether a Care Plan makes sense for their circumstances. Someone expecting only a few appointments can select a lower annual level, while a senior requiring more frequent medical transportation can choose a plan with a larger eligible ride allowance and greater savings. Dialysis customers have access to levels specifically designed for recurring transportation, while the Medical and Cancer Care Plans provide options ranging from occasional to more frequent transportation needs.

Most importantly, RideSenior wants customers to understand exactly what they are paying for. The annual Care Plan fee activates the Care Plan. Transportation fares are paid separately. The number of eligible rides represents the number of rides that can receive the applicable Care Plan savings, not a number of prepaid rides included for free. Actual transportation pricing depends on the trip, including route distance and any applicable selected services, while taxes are calculated where applicable. This distinction will be clearly communicated throughout the updated Care Plan experience.

The new pricing structure takes effect on September 15, 2026, and marks the next stage in the development of RideSenior Transportation Care Plans. By maintaining the established Medical Care Plan, Dialysis Care Plan, and Cancer Care Plan while introducing a more flexible way to participate, RideSenior is working to make recurring senior transportation easier to access, easier to budget for, and easier for families to manage.

As RideSenior continues to serve older adults and families, we will continue listening to how customers use transportation in real life and adapting our services accordingly. Healthcare journeys are personal, schedules change, destinations change, and every family’s circumstances are different. Our goal is to build transportation options that recognize those differences while providing clear pricing, practical savings, and dependable support.

The updated Transportation Care Plans represent that philosophy in action: a smaller annual commitment, clearly defined savings, transparent regular transportation pricing, and the freedom to book each ride according to what the senior actually needs at that moment. Through this change, RideSenior hopes to extend the value of its Care Plans to more seniors, more caregivers, and more families while continuing to build a transportation network centered on accessibility, flexibility, and the everyday realities of aging and healthcare.
