This updated model reflects customer feedback and real operational experience. Our goal is to create a pricing system that feels fair for everyday transportation needs while keeping longer trips reasonably priced and accessible.
For short trips, RideSenior now uses a simplified flat-rate structure designed to reduce pricing concerns for common appointments and local errands.
RideSenior Pricing Guide
RideSenior uses a clear and customer-friendly pricing structure for senior transportation across Canada. Pricing is based on total trip distance, the selected assistance option, optional equipment rental, waiting time for round trips, and applicable provincial taxes. Standard door-to-door support is included.
| Category | Pricing |
|---|---|
| Short Trips | 0–5 km: $25 5–10 km: $32 |
| Distance Pricing | 10–30 km: $32 plus $1.10 per km over 10 km 30–80 km: $54 plus $0.90 per km over 30 km Over 80 km: $99 plus $0.75 per km over 80 km |

| Equipment Rental | Wheelchair: $10 per hour Mobility scooter: $20 per hour |
| British Columbia Tax | 12% tax applies to bookings in British Columbia, including Vancouver. |
Example 1: One-Way Booking in Vancouver
Trip: Vancouver home address → Medical clinic
Distance: 18 km
Assistance: Walker assistance — $5.00
Distance fee: $32.00 + 8 km × $1.10 = $40.80
Subtotal: $40.80 + $5.00 = $45.80
British Columbia Tax 12%: $5.50
Estimated Total: $51.30
Example 2: Round Trip with Waiting Time in Vancouver
Trip: Home → Hospital → Return home
Total distance: 36 km
Waiting time: 2 hours
Assistance: Wheelchair assistance — $10.00
Distance fee: $54.00 + 6 km × $0.90 = $59.40
Waiting fee: First 60 minutes free, then one hour × $10.00 = $10.00
Subtotal: $59.40 + $10.00 assistance + $10.00 waiting = $79.40
British Columbia Tax 12%: $9.53
Estimated Total: $88.93
Final pricing may vary depending on the actual route distance, selected assistance, waiting time, equipment rental, driver availability, and applicable provincial taxes.
Trips between 0–5 km are priced at $29, while trips between 5–10 km are priced at $39. This simple structure helps customers clearly understand pricing before booking, without complicated calculations or hidden fees.
For trips longer than 10 km, RideSenior applies a progressive distance-based pricing model where the cost per kilometer decreases as distance increases. Trips between 10–30 km are charged at $1.75 per kilometer. Trips between 30–80 km are charged at $1.25 per kilometer, while trips over 80 km are charged at $1.00 per kilometer.
This approach provides better value for longer trips while maintaining fair compensation for drivers and operational support.
One of the most important updates is that RideSenior now includes basic senior assistance at no additional charge. Wheelchair assistance, walker assistance, and other basic door-to-door support services are all included in the booking price whenever possible. Our mission is to ensure seniors receive compassionate and respectful transportation support without worrying about extra assistance fees.
For round-trip bookings, RideSenior also updated the waiting time policy to provide a more customer-friendly experience. The first 60 minutes of waiting time are completely free. After that, waiting time is charged at $10 per hour, with a maximum waiting fee capped at $30.
This new structure is especially helpful for seniors attending medical appointments, dialysis visits, therapy sessions, or hospital checkups where waiting times may vary unexpectedly.
RideSenior also continues to offer optional equipment rental services for customers who need additional mobility support during their trip. Wheelchair rental is available at $10 per hour, while mobility scooter rental is available at $20 per hour.
The RideSenior pricing structure remains simple and transparent.
The subtotal is calculated using the following formula:
Distance Fee + Waiting Fee + Optional Equipment Rental
Applicable provincial taxes are then added based on the location of service. Alberta applies 5% GST, British Columbia applies 12% tax, Ontario applies 13% HST, Quebec applies 14.975%, while other provinces follow local tax regulations.
The final total is calculated as:
Subtotal + Applicable Tax
This updated pricing model reflects RideSenior’s ongoing commitment to making senior transportation more accessible, predictable, and affordable across Canada.
By lowering short-trip pricing, reducing long-distance costs, including basic assistance services, and simplifying waiting fees, RideSenior hopes to create a better overall experience for seniors, families, caregivers, and healthcare partners.
As RideSenior continues expanding across Canada, our focus remains the same: providing safe, compassionate, and reliable transportation services that seniors and their families can trust.
