Leaving the hospital should feel like the beginning of a comfortable transition home, not another transportation challenge. RideSenior Hospital Discharge Transportation is designed to help seniors, patients, and families arrange reliable non-emergency transportation after a hospital stay, medical procedure, treatment, or other eligible discharge.

Hospital discharge transportation can be different from an ordinary ride. A patient may be ready and able to meet a RideSenior Pro at the hospital entrance, while another patient may need the driver to park, enter the hospital, meet them at their unit or department, and accompany them to the vehicle. RideSenior’s booking process allows customers to choose the pickup option that better reflects their needs.
For a standard Door / Curbside Pickup, the rider meets the RideSenior Pro at the agreed hospital entrance or pickup area. There is no additional Hospital Pickup Assistance charge for this option. Customers who require the RideSenior Pro to enter the hospital can select Hospital Pickup Assistance. This service carries an additional $15 fee and includes parking when applicable.
RideSenior Hospital Discharge Transportation is a non-emergency transportation service. RideSenior Pros do not replace nurses, paramedics, healthcare professionals, patient-transfer teams, or medical transportation providers. Patients should be medically cleared and ready for discharge, and RideSenior does not provide clinical care or medical transfers.
Hospital discharge times can sometimes change. Paperwork, prescriptions, final assessments, or other hospital procedures may delay a patient’s release. RideSenior therefore maintains a separate hospital waiting policy. The first 30 minutes of hospital waiting are free. After the first 30 minutes, waiting is charged at $10 for each additional 30 minutes or portion thereof, up to a maximum waiting fee of $30. Waiting charges are separate from the $15 Hospital Pickup Assistance service.
Families may also arrange transportation on behalf of a parent, relative, or other rider. Providing accurate hospital information, the appropriate unit or department when assistance is requested, and a reachable contact number can help make coordination easier.
The following 25 frequently asked questions explain how RideSenior Hospital Discharge Transportation works, the difference between curbside pickup and Hospital Pickup Assistance, waiting time, booking, payment, mobility considerations, and what customers should expect from their RideSenior Pro.
