Prioritizing the Health and
Health and Safety
Health and safety come first at RideSenior
The well-being of our passengers and riders are our #1 priority. That’s why we’ve developed a comprehensive plan that prioritizes the health and safety of everyone in the RideSenior community.
All RideSenior drivers must meet our industry-leading credentialing requirements and are equipped with the tools necessary for safe driving, following health protocols, adhering to accessible ride standards, understanding and implementing emergency procedures, and physically assisting riders with a wide range of physical conditions.
RideSenior assists drivers with credentialing gaps to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to meet RideSenior standards and join our driver network.
Driver backgrounds are thoroughly vetted, their performance monitored, and their vehicles regularly inspected to ensure they meet RideSenior’s high standards.
Compliance
We’ve taken a compliance first approach from day one
A compliance-first approach from day one
From the beginning, we have taken a compliance-first approach in designing our platform and operations. Our turnkey mobility solution is built to support the regulatory and operational requirements of our partners across Canada.
Our internal standards ensure that our drivers and processes remain flexible while complying with applicable federal, provincial, and municipal transportation, accessibility, and privacy regulations. This helps ensure your organization’s operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
Driver standards
All RideSenior drivers must meet strict credentialing and training requirements related to senior care, accessibility, physical assistance, safety, and rider support.
Drivers also have access to a knowledge base within the RideSenior Driver App, which includes situation-specific procedures and best practices to ensure they can meet each rider’s needs and respond appropriately in different scenarios.
Health & safety protocols
The health and safety of our passengers is a top priority. RideSenior follows current public health guidance issued by Canadian federal and provincial health authorities and continuously monitors updates to health and safety recommendations.
Drivers are required to follow all applicable infection prevention and hygiene protocols, and additional protective measures may be implemented when recommended by public health officials.
Drug & alcohol policy
RideSenior maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding the use of drugs and alcohol while providing services.
Where required by partner organizations or local regulations, drivers may be subject to drug and alcohol testing. Drivers also receive training on substance awareness, identification, and reporting procedures. Riders are provided with a clear process to report any concerns related to driver conduct.
Background checks
Before joining the RideSenior driver network, all drivers must successfully complete criminal background screening, which may include a Vulnerable Sector Check, depending on provincial requirements and partner expectations.
Drivers must also maintain a clean driving record, verified through provincial motor vehicle record checks.
Vehicle inspections
All vehicles used on the RideSenior platform must meet provincial and municipal safety standards and pass required inspections. Drivers are responsible for maintaining their vehicles in safe, clean, and roadworthy condition and may be required to complete regular vehicle inspection documentation.
Complaint procedures
As part of our commitment to providing a safe, respectful, and reliable experience, RideSenior maintains a clear and accessible complaint resolution process.
All complaints are reviewed promptly and handled with the highest priority until they are fully resolved, ensuring accountability and continuous service improvement.
