At RideSenior, our goal is to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate non-emergency transportation for seniors and adults who need assistance travelling to medical appointments, hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centres, retirement communities, and other important destinations.
To avoid confusion during the booking process, we would like to clarify the type of vehicles currently available through RideSenior.
RideSenior Currently Uses Standard Passenger Vehicles
RideSenior transportation is currently provided using standard passenger vehicles, such as cars, SUVs, and similar personal vehicles operated by our approved driver partners.
At this time, RideSenior does not provide wheelchair-accessible vans equipped with ramps, hydraulic lifts, or specialized wheelchair restraints.

Passengers Using Wheelchairs
Passengers who use a wheelchair may still be able to book a RideSenior trip when:
- The passenger can safely transfer from the wheelchair into a regular vehicle seat.
- A family member, caregiver, or facility staff member can assist with the transfer when needed.
- The wheelchair can be folded and stored safely inside the vehicle.
- The wheelchair is not too large or heavy for the assigned vehicle.
Passengers must remain seated in a regular vehicle seat while the vehicle is moving. Wheelchairs cannot be used as passenger seats inside standard RideSenior vehicles.
Walkers, Canes, and Other Mobility Devices
Many RideSenior drivers can transport folding walkers, canes, and other small mobility devices, provided they fit safely inside the vehicle.
Customers should clearly identify all mobility devices during the booking process. This information helps our team select an appropriate driver and vehicle whenever possible.
Please Review the Wheelchair Notice Before Confirming
The RideSenior booking form includes an important wheelchair information notice before customers proceed to the next step.
Customers are asked to carefully review this notice and accurately answer whether the passenger uses a wheelchair, walker, or another mobility device.
Providing complete information helps prevent:
- A driver arriving with an unsuitable vehicle.
- Delays or missed medical appointments.
- Last-minute booking cancellations.
- Unsafe passenger transfers.
- Confusion between customers, caregivers, and drivers.
When a Wheelchair-Accessible Van Is Required
RideSenior may not be suitable when the passenger:
- Cannot transfer into a standard vehicle seat.
- Must remain seated in the wheelchair during transportation.
- Requires a vehicle ramp or mechanical lift.
- Requires specialized wheelchair securing equipment.
- Uses a large, non-folding, or powered wheelchair that cannot fit safely inside a standard vehicle.
In these situations, customers should arrange transportation through a specialized wheelchair-accessible transportation provider.
Help Us Provide a Safe and Appropriate Ride
Before confirming a RideSenior booking, please make sure that all transportation and mobility requirements are entered correctly.
When you are uncertain whether the passenger can safely use a standard passenger vehicle, please contact RideSenior before submitting the booking request. Our team will review the trip details and help determine whether the requested transportation is appropriate.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Clear and accurate booking information allows RideSenior to better support passengers, families, caregivers, healthcare facilities, and our driver partners.
