RideSenior Introduces the Everyday Ride Plan for Customers with Regular Monthly Transportation Needs

RideSenior is pleased to announce the addition of the Everyday Ride Plan, a new transportation savings option designed for seniors and families who need reliable transportation not only for medical appointments, but also for the many activities that are part of everyday life. The new plan expands the RideSenior Care Plan program by giving customers a practical option for recurring transportation needs throughout the month, including shopping, social visits, community activities, personal appointments, errands, family visits, and other local trips.

As RideSenior continues to serve seniors across different communities, we have learned that transportation needs are rarely limited to hospitals and medical clinics. Medical transportation remains an important part of our service, and RideSenior continues to provide dedicated plans for customers who need transportation for medical appointments, dialysis treatment, cancer treatment, and other healthcare-related needs. At the same time, many seniors need transportation simply to continue participating in everyday life. A trip to the grocery store, a visit with a friend, an appointment at the bank, a haircut, a community event, or an afternoon with family may seem routine, but reliable transportation can make a meaningful difference in whether a senior is able to participate independently.

The new Everyday Ride Plan was created specifically around these regular transportation needs. Rather than focusing on one type of healthcare journey, the plan gives customers greater flexibility in deciding where and when they would like to travel. Customers can use their RideSenior transportation for a wide range of eligible everyday destinations while receiving savings based on the level of transportation they expect to use.

The Everyday Ride Plan currently provides three membership levels. The Essential Plan is CAD $29 per year and provides 5% savings on up to 6 rides. The Plus Plan is CAD $49 per year and provides 8% savings on up to 12 rides. For customers expecting more frequent transportation needs, the Complete Plan is CAD $79 per year and provides 10% savings on up to 24 rides. Ride fares are paid separately, which means customers are not required to purchase a fixed transportation route or commit to a predetermined schedule when selecting their plan.

Choose My Everyday Ride Plan

Ride fares are paid separately. No fixed route or schedule is required.

This structure is particularly useful for seniors whose transportation needs may change from month to month. One month might include several appointments, shopping trips, or family activities, while another month may require fewer rides. Instead of requiring customers to determine every destination in advance, the Everyday Ride Plan is intended to provide flexibility while still giving regular RideSenior customers access to transportation savings and additional coordination benefits.

For many families, arranging transportation for an older parent or relative can involve more than simply finding a vehicle. Family members may live in another neighbourhood, another city, another province, or even another country. Work schedules and family responsibilities can also make it difficult to personally provide every ride. In these situations, having access to a transportation service that can be scheduled when needed can help families organize transportation more consistently.

RideSenior therefore designed the Everyday Ride Plan with both seniors and their families in mind. In addition to transportation savings, plan customers can benefit from priority scheduling, flexible destinations, family ride updates, flexible rescheduling, access to a dedicated driver when available, and care coordinator support. These features are intended to make recurring transportation easier to organize while allowing customers to maintain control over their own schedules.

Flexible destinations are an especially important part of the Everyday Ride Plan. RideSenior does not want everyday senior transportation to be viewed only as transportation from a home to a hospital and back. Seniors have social lives, personal responsibilities, appointments, interests, relationships, and routines. Transportation can support all of these activities.

A customer may want a RideSenior driver to take them to a shopping centre in the morning. On another day, they may need transportation to a bank appointment. Later in the month, they may want to visit a family member, attend a community program, go to a hair appointment, or meet a friend. The purpose of the Everyday Ride Plan is to accommodate this variety rather than restricting customers to one category of destination.

The plan may also be helpful for seniors who have stopped driving or are gradually reducing how often they drive. Giving up driving can represent a major change in daily routine, particularly in communities where destinations are spread across a large geographic area. RideSenior believes that reducing or stopping driving should not necessarily mean reducing participation in the community. Access to transportation can help seniors continue making their own plans and reaching the places that matter to them.

This is also why the Everyday Ride Plan is different from RideSenior’s specialized healthcare plans. Customers whose primary transportation requirements involve healthcare can continue choosing the Medical Care Plan, Dialysis Care Plan, or Cancer Care Plan, depending on their circumstances. These programs include features that are more closely connected to recurring medical or treatment transportation, such as appointment reminders, recurring ride coordination, treatment-day scheduling, and care coordinator support.

The Everyday Ride Plan serves a broader purpose. It is for customers who may not require specialized treatment transportation but still expect to use RideSenior regularly for daily activities. By offering separate plans, RideSenior can provide customers with options that better reflect the type and frequency of transportation they actually need.

Importantly, joining the Everyday Ride Plan does not mean purchasing a fixed route. Customers are not limited to traveling between the same two addresses, and there is no requirement to establish a permanent weekly schedule simply to participate in the plan. Ride fares remain separate from the membership, and customers can request transportation according to their individual needs and RideSenior’s service availability.

This approach also makes it easier for families to select an appropriate level without overcommitting. A family expecting occasional transportation during the year might begin with Essential, while someone expecting more regular use could consider Plus or Complete. Because each level provides a different ride allowance and savings percentage, customers can select the option that corresponds more closely with their anticipated usage.

The addition of the Everyday Ride Plan reflects a broader direction for RideSenior. Senior transportation should support more than healthcare access. It should also support independence, connection, participation, and everyday routines. A senior may need transportation to a specialist appointment one week and to a granddaughter’s birthday celebration the next. Both trips can be important.

Social transportation can be particularly valuable because transportation barriers may gradually reduce the number of activities a senior attends. When getting somewhere becomes difficult, people may begin declining invitations, postponing errands, or depending heavily on family members. Providing another transportation option can help make these activities easier to plan.

RideSenior also recognizes that consistency matters to many older customers. Meeting an unfamiliar driver for every trip is not always ideal, particularly for seniors who appreciate familiar routines. For this reason, the Everyday Ride Plan includes access to a dedicated driver when available. While the same driver cannot be guaranteed for every booking because availability, schedules, service areas, and other operational factors can change, RideSenior will make efforts to provide continuity when circumstances allow.

Family ride updates are another part of the program. Many RideSenior bookings are arranged by adult children or other relatives on behalf of an older family member. Keeping the family informed can provide greater visibility into scheduled transportation, particularly when relatives are managing care from a distance.

At the same time, RideSenior wants the senior customer to remain at the centre of the service. The purpose of family involvement is to make coordination easier where appropriate, rather than taking control away from the person receiving transportation. Every customer has different circumstances, and the service is intended to remain flexible enough to accommodate those differences.

Flexible rescheduling is equally important because plans can change. An appointment may move, a family event may be postponed, weather may affect a customer’s plans, or a senior may simply decide that a trip is no longer needed at the originally scheduled time. Building flexibility into the Everyday Ride Plan allows transportation arrangements to better reflect real life rather than expecting every customer’s schedule to remain unchanged.

Care coordinator support adds another layer of assistance for customers and families who may need help organizing their transportation. Instead of expecting every senior to navigate transportation arrangements entirely on their own, RideSenior can provide support when questions arise about bookings, scheduling, or recurring transportation requirements.

The Everyday Ride Plan also complements RideSenior’s existing approach to senior transportation, including one-way and round-trip bookings. Some customers need transportation to a destination but have another way home. Others need RideSenior for both directions. Some trips may be short and local, while others may involve greater distances. The Everyday Ride Plan is intended to work within this flexible transportation model rather than replacing it with a rigid subscription route.

RideSenior believes this flexibility will become increasingly important as more seniors look for alternatives to driving while still wanting to remain active within their communities. Transportation decisions are highly personal. Some customers may use RideSenior occasionally alongside transportation from family members, public transit, taxis, community programs, or other options. Others may use RideSenior more regularly. The Everyday Ride Plan gives customers another way to incorporate RideSenior into the transportation mix that works for them.

The introduction of the Everyday Ride Plan is also part of RideSenior’s continued development of a more complete transportation ecosystem for older adults. Rather than treating every booking as an isolated trip, RideSenior is working toward a service relationship that can support customers over time. Care plans allow the company to better understand recurring transportation patterns while giving customers additional options for savings, scheduling, communication, and coordination.

For families, this can mean having a transportation option available before an urgent need arises. Instead of beginning a new search every time a parent needs to go somewhere, families can establish a RideSenior relationship and request transportation as needs develop. For seniors, it can mean knowing that transportation is available for more than medical appointments.

A grocery trip matters. A visit with a friend matters. Attending a community event matters. Going to the library, visiting family, having lunch outside the home, attending an appointment, or simply completing an important errand can all contribute to an active and independent life.

That is the idea behind the Everyday Ride Plan.

With Essential at CAD $29 per year with 5% savings on up to 6 rides, Plus at CAD $49 per year with 8% savings on up to 12 rides, and Complete at CAD $79 per year with 10% savings on up to 24 rides, customers can choose a level based on how frequently they expect to use the service. Ride fares remain separate, and no fixed route or predetermined transportation schedule is required.

Alongside the Everyday Ride Plan, RideSenior will continue offering its Medical Care, Dialysis Care, and Cancer Care plans so that customers can choose transportation support according to their individual circumstances. Together, these plans represent RideSenior’s goal of making senior transportation more flexible, organized, and responsive to different stages of life.

For RideSenior, transportation is ultimately about helping people get where they need and want to go. Sometimes that destination is a hospital. Sometimes it is a grocery store. Sometimes it is a family gathering, a community centre, a personal appointment, or a friend’s home. The destination may change, but the need for dependable transportation remains.

The new RideSenior Everyday Ride Plan gives customers and families another option for planning those journeys while receiving savings and additional support. As RideSenior continues to expand its services, the company remains focused on building transportation solutions around the real everyday needs of seniors and the families who support them.
